Could not agree with you more. If home had more "non game" related content it would be a social place like facebook for the PSN/PS3. The singstar space would be cooler if they integrated it with the singstar viewer app. Giving us the ability to see the videos that are posted by people in that "game".
But the abilities that were touted at the announcement of home should be implemented before it comes out of the beta phase.

My PSN ID (tag) is WrekGar. I’m a big fan of Transformers (original G1) and went thru a couple names back in the day playing SOCOM then met up with some like minded individuals. We all took names from the Transformers and have been playing games with each other since.
I actually know that store they are talking about and they are cool peoples that own it. Funny thing is I bought my copy of TEKKEN 6 from a "GAMESTOP" that broke the street date to be in competition with the Mom & Pop stores in it's area. Which is also in brooklyn that near a certain end of the line train station.

You are right that the PS3 does not offer cross game chat (soon will as leaked by the Naughty dog Dev). But if I was reading the press release right it will offer the BD Live features. If and I say "IF" that is true you will be able to basically "party up" with your friends from around the world to watch movies or TV shows. I am not sure if is voice chat but it is definitely text. Also if some or all of the BD Live features make it to this streaming it will definitely top ...

FW updates are all good to me as long as they improve the system it's a good thing.
I know somebody on my friends list who had to go through the situation he is talking about. My friends system crashed because of his nephew and he had to replace it. On top of that his copy of Singstar was inside the system and he couldn't get it out. He sent the system to SONY who replaced it with a new one and gave him a new copy of Singstar. I also think it's up to the individual connections. I have downloaded a lot of things from the store and a 2 hour movie took about 10 min. Games take no time at all unless I am downloading them at the same time as everyone else. At 1 point I downloaded 1 movie 2 TV episodes and a couple game demos as well as games and it took maybe a 30 min for it all to be done.
I gotta tell you that the PS Video store has close to or about 500 movies. The TV show episodes are about 700 episodes all together for the different TV shows available. So for a service that just started it has a lot to go thru.
We do have videochat in the Poker game as well as GO! Puzzle and those 2 games have been out for a good long while. Now if they can implament this across the board with all games it will definitely be a sweet deal. I will log this 1 down as DEFINITE RUMOR!
I am to happy I upgraded my HD to a 320gb way back when. I also got a 500gb network drive and my original 60gb in a HD enclosure hooked into my PS3 so I think I have more than enough space to do things that I want.
For me would definitely have to be with the Strategy type games from the Genesis era Populous and Herzog Zwei would take up a good portion of my time on just 1 map. Those games had me going to the point of I would start 3pm on 1 map and wouldn't be finished till 2 or 3 hours later. Ghouls and Ghost on the Genesis was a good 1 too, started 12pm went until 4:30am slept woke up at 9:30 to finish the game by 12pm.
I myself own about 47 Blu-Ray movies. Yes I do see digital downloads in the future but until terabyte storage is widely used and the TRUE high speed of the internet are utilized (cheaper) it is not that viable an option. I watch digital movies on my pc but I have yet to hook it up to my 42' LCD TV. I am not looking to get any accessories that allow such a connection either. If anyone payed attention to the ending of GoW3 they would see during the lightening strike carved into the stone floor a PHOENIX. If you know the lore of what that means then it is a no brainer that a next part will happen.
